Men's Soccer Soars Past Colonels
Pedro Goncalves collects first collegiate tally for Green and Gold
Fitchburg, MA– The Fitchburg State University Men's Soccer Team registered a 3-0 triumph over the Colonels of Curry College in non-conference action from Elliot Field this evening.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State opened the scoring at the 10:29 mark when freshman Joao Pedro Goncalves (Hyannis, MA) headed home a corner off the foot of classmate Oswaldo Mendoza (Marlborough, MA) into the upper left corner for his first collegiate tally for the 1-0 edge.
The Falcons doubled the lead midway through the first frame with sophomore Anthony Oliveira-Dalicandro (Waltham, MA) received a feed from junior Liam Evans (Marshfield, MA) and deposited a shot inside the left post for his second tally of the 2024 campaign to make the score 2-0.
Following the intermission, the Green and Gold pushed the advantage to 3-0 in the 58th minute of action as senior Elijah Kalombo (Worcester, MA) settled a pass from newcomer William Badger (Attleboro, MA) and found the back of the net for his second marker on the year.
