FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg State men's soccer freshman Sam Amara (Roslindale, MA) was recently named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's soccer Rookie of the Week.
Amara helped the Falcons achieve a 2-0 week with wins over Colby-Sawyer and MCLA. Led the team with five points for the week, scoring two goals and adding one assist. His first goal and assist came in the game against Colby-Sawyer, while his other goal was scored against MCLA.
The Fitchburg State men's soccer team is back in action Saturday in a MASCAC game against Anna Maria College on Caparso Field at noon.
