Guevara Mateo Collects Pair Of MASCAC Weekly Honors
Cambridge, Mass. native receives first two weekly accolades of the season
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Cross Country freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner and Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Guevara Mateo earned his first weekly honors of the 2025-26 season after placing second overall at the 2025 Silloway Maple Syrup Challenge with a time of 27:28.18 over the 8K course, hosted by Vermont Technical College on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State Men's Cross Country team returns to action on Saturday as they compete at the 2025 Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College, starting at 11:00AM.
