Men's Cross Country Places Second Overall At 2024 Founding Tree 8K

Amherst, MA – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team placed second overall out of 12 teams with a total of 53 points at the 2024 Founding Tree 8K, hosted by Hampshire College this morning.

How It Happened
Senior Taban Manyok (Lynn, MA) paced the Falcons, placing second overall with a time of 27:10.80 over the 8K course, while junior Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) was next for the Green and Gold, finishing fourth with a time of 27;20.10.
Freshman Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) followed in 12th place with a time of 29:11.90, while sophomore Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) entered the chute with a 14th place time of 29:46.10.
Rounding out the seven finishers for Fitchburg State were senior Casey LaCombe (South Hadley, MA) (29th), freshman Brendan Guenard (Andover, MA) (31st) and sophomore Matt Telson (Everett, MA) (41st) with times of 31:24.40, 31:33.40 and 32:52.40 respectively.

- Eli Lemire of NHTI won the 2024 Founding Tree 8K with a time of 26:58.60
- Fitchburg State did not compete at the 2023 Hampshire College 6K/*k
