Men's Outdoor Track Places Sixth At The 2025 Corsair Classic
Bourassa qualifies for All-NE's in the javelin
Dartmouth, MA. – The Fitchburg State University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team placed sixth overall with a total of 54.50 points at the 2025 Corsair Classic, hosted by UMass Dartmouth today at the UMass Dartmouth Track.

Junior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, finishing second in the javelin with an All-New England qualifying throw of 61.34 meters, third in the shot put, first in the hammer throw and second in the discus with a DIII New England qualifying tosses of 14.28 meters, 50.12 meters and 44.48 meters, while senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) placed second overall in the hammer throw with a DIII NE qualifying toss of 49.45 meters as well as finishing 11th in shot put (12.05M) and 23rd in the discus (29.22M).
Sophomore Tyler Kwamo (Auburn, MA) was also solid for the Falcons, finishing fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters.
In the 10000 meter, graduate student Cameron Davis (Gardner, MA) finished ninth overall with a time of 38:29.35, while in the 3000 meter steeple chase, junior Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) (6th) and sophomore Matthew Gill (Ayer, MA) (7th) posted times of 10:55.04 and 11:28.04.
In the 1500 meter, freshman Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) (4:17,57), junior Joshua Lancaster (Hadley, MA) (4:32.83), senior Casey LaCombe (South Hadley, MA) (5:05.02) and senior Joshua Leaffer (North Andover, MA) (5:09.28) placed 13th, 33rd, 46th and 47th respectively, while newcomers Patrick Shaughnessy (Plymouth, MA) (4th), William McGurl (Billerica, MA) (15th) and Joseph Imbracsio (North Billerica, MA) (16th) turned times of 16.65, 20.36 and 20.49 in the 110 meter hurdles.
The 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA), sophomore Derrick Tawiah (Worcester, MA), classmate Jesse Moriello (Plymouth, MA) and sophomore Keenan Ansah (Plymouth, MA) posted an 11th place time of 45.90 seconds, while Clottier Jr (53.47), freshman Brendan Guenard (Andover, MA) (55.45) and junior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (56.18) placed 14th, 21st and 23rd in the 400 meter.
In the 100 meter, Ansah (15th), freshman Christopher Adamchek (Carlisle, MA) (27th) and Tawiah (34th) posted times of 11.51, 11.82 and 11.97 seconds, while Edwards ((2:07.41), junior Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) (2:18.06) and Leaffer (2:23.72) placed 18th, 37th and 42nd in the 800 meter.
Moriello (1:03.49), Shaughnessy (1:04.57), McGurl (1:10.17), Gill (1:11.14) and Imbracsio (1:22.88) finished 11th, 14th, 18th, 20th and 22nd respectively in the 400 hurdles, while in the 200 meter, Tawiah placed 30th over with a time of 24.34 seconds.
In the field, sophomore John Koutsouoa (Birdsboro, PA) registered tosses of 33.92 meters and 11.09 meters in the hammer throw (16th) and shot put (22nd).
In the Discus, Monette and Koutsouoa finished 23rd and 34th with throws of 31.63 meters and 24.97 meters, while sophomore Tyler Kwamo (Auburn, MA) turned in a second place effort of 1.80 meters in the high jump
Rounding out the top Falcon effort was Leafer, who finished 19th in the 5000 meter with a time of 17:15.00.
