Women's Lacrosse Bested in MASCAC Opener
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team dropped their conference opener to the Rams of Framingham State by a score of 18-8 this afternoon.

- Records: Framingham (4-4, 1-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg (1-8, 0-1 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams opened the game with seven goals in the first quarter. Molly Lanier led the way for Framingham through one with three goals. Jeannine Preston (Plymouth, MA), Samantha Azzari (Haverhill, MA), and Hannah Azzari (Haverhill, MA) scored the three goals for the Falcons, concluding the quarter with a 7-3 score.
- The second had Framingham adding five more compared to the Falcons' two. Lanier and Madeline Bosma continued to score, with Lanier finding her fourth of the game and Bosma finding the back of the net for her third. Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) scored the first goal for Fitchburg with 7:17 left. Alexis Raymond (Tewksbury, MA) would score the second with 4:36 left. The Rams would take a 12-5 score into the break.
- The second half started with Bosma netting her fourth goal of the game. Delaney Ponder (E. Bridgewater, MA) would score the Falcons' only goal of the third quarter with 5:48 left. Framingham would respond by putting up another four goals before the quarter would conclude. Lanier would find her fifth goal of the game, with Maggie Grout scoring her fourth.
- The fourth had just three goals scored. Kiley McFadden (Tewksbury, MA) and Ponder scored for the Falcons, and Hailey Baker scored the lone Rams goal, bringing the final score to 18-8.

- Isabella Dimare got the win (4-4) in net for the Rams, making 5 saves.
- Dakin Kovatch (White River Junction, VT) suffered the loss (1-7) after surrendering 18 goals and making 9 saves.
