Women's Outdoor Track Places Tenth At 2025 Corsair Classic
Scott and Hepler qualify for DIII New England's
Dartmouth, MA. – The Fitchburg State University Women's Outdoor Track & Field team placed tenth overall with a total of 26 points at the 2025 Corsair Classic, hosted by UMass Dartmouth today at the UMass Dartmouth Track.

How It Happened
Junior Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) led the way for the Falcons, tacking top honors in the triple jump with a with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 10.83 meters and 12th in the long jump with a mark of 4.72 meters, while sophomore Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) placed fifth in the hammer throw (36.50M) and 15th in the discus (26.28M).
Freshman Sophia Hepler (Orono, ME) was also solid for the Green and Gold, finishing second in the javelin with a DIII NE qualifying toss of 34.52M as well as placing 25th in the hammer throw (24.25M) and 29th in the shot put (7.99M).
In the 1500 meter, senior Skye Goba (Norton, MA) placed 15th overall with a time of 5:16.99, while the 4x100 meter relay team of freshman Maribelis Alcantara (Salem, MA), classmate Arieyana Robinson (Worcester, MA), junior Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) and Scott added a seventh overall with a time of 54.01.
Robinson (14.11) and Alcantara (14.32) finished 18th and 24th in the 100 meter dash, while in the 800 meter, senior Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) placed 24th overall with a time of 2:48.97.
In the field, junior Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) placed 19th in the hammer thro, 21st in the shot put (25th) and 20th in the discus with tosses of 28.35M, 8.44M and 23.73M, while in the javelin, senior Sophia Salamone (Falmouth, ME) finished 24th with a toss of 21.59 meters as well finishing seventh in the discus with a throw of 28.38 meters.
