Westfield Takes Down Men’s Soccer

WESTFIELD, MA: The Fitchburg State men’s soccer team dropped a MASCAC contest this afternoon to Westfield State by a score of 4-0.  

WESTFIELD, MA: The Fitchburg State men's soccer team dropped a MASCAC contest this afternoon to Westfield State by a score of 4-0.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/13/25

- Score: Westfield 4, Fitchburg 0

- Records: Westfield (3-1, 1-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg (1-3-1, 0-2 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Owls scored their first of four goals in the 9th minute. Dylan Wesley put them ahead 1-0 with a free kick that hit the back post. Tim Tkacz was credited with the assist. Westfield took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

- The Owls added three more goals in the second half. Nick Parakilas scored the first goal of the second half in the 54th minute. This time, Wesley assisted for his third point of the game. Sonny Mazza scored the third goal of the game in the 74th minute, making it 3-0, with Aidan Ferguson credited with the assist. The final goal was scored in the 86th minute by Paul Whalley, with Matias Otero providing the assist.

- Marko Kononenko earned the win (3-0) in goal for the Owls after making seven of seven saves. Malcolm Edwards (Salem, MA) took the loss (0-3-1) after surrendering four goals and making five saves.
