How It Happened

New England College opened the scoring midway through the first half as senior Wyatt Flibbert (Windham, ME) converted a penalty kick for his second score of the season for the 1-0 edge. Fitchburg State knotted the at 1-1 two minutes later when freshman Sam Amara (Roslindale, MA) settled a feed from junior Anthony Oliveira-Dalicandro (Waltham, MA) and deposited a inside the far post for his first collegiate marker.

The Falcons grabbed advantage in the 33rd minute of action with Oliveira-Dalicandro collecting a pass from newcomer Cesar Pinelo (Watertown, MA), who tucked a shot into the lower left corner for his first goal of the 2025-26 campaign to make the score 2-1, going into the break.

Following the break, the Green and Gold upped the lead to 3-1 at the 55:59 mark as sophomore Justin Job (Worcester, MA) settled a rebounded shot off the foot of newcomer Joseph Lavela (Worcester, MA) and found the back of the net for his first marker of the year.
