Abt and Hurrell Earn MASCAC Second Team All-Conference Honors

FITCHBURG, MA: The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) has announced the 2025 baseball All-Conference Teams early this afternoon. The Falcons baseball team had two players earn their way onto an All-Conference team this season. 

FITCHBURG, MA: The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) has announced the 2025 baseball All-Conference Teams early this afternoon. The Falcons baseball team had two players earn their way onto an All-Conference team this season. 

Joseph Abt (Newbury, MA) earned a spot on the MASCAC All-Conference Second Team by anchoring the Falcons' offense and defense this season. Abt led the team with a .411 average in 112 at-bats with 46 hits. Nine of those hits were doubles, and two of them were home runs. He also topped the team in runs batted in with 39 RBIs. Defensively, Abt held an impressive .933 fielding percentage with eight double plays. He had 104 chances this season at shortstop, racking up 39 putouts and 58 assists. 

Jacob Hurrell (Haverhill, MA) was also named as an outfielder on the All-Conference Second Team. Hurrell's final season with the Falcons saw him boast a .351 batting average with 46 hits and 25 RBIs. Hurrell will leave Fitchburg with his name all over the record books. After this season, he is now in the top spot for triples (14) in a career, second in home runs (21), second in total bases (268), third in stolen bases (45), and fifth in total hits (148).
