Blue Jays Down Volleyball in Home Opener
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State women's volleyball team fell to the Blue Jays of Saint Joseph's (CT) (USJ) in non-conference action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Falcons rallied back in the third set after dropping the first two. Leading the way for the Falcons was Stephanie Sardella (Billerica, MA), who recorded 13 kills and 22 digs, leading in both categories. Mia Vestal (Wilmington, MA) was the primary setter tonight, finding a rhythm with the offense. She dished out 20 assists and added 10 digs.
- USJ found success early in the match thanks to contributions from both Shaye Harris and Emilia Dugas. Harris led the team with 17 kills, along with 14 digs and a service ace. Dugas also had a double-digit kill count with ten and added 14 digs. Anchoring the Blue Jay defense was libero Alyssa Dugas, who recorded an impressive 42 digs on the night.
