Fitchburg, MA. – The Fitchburg State field hockey team earned a 6-2 victory over the Raiders of Rivier University this afternoon in non-conference action from Elliot Field.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State opened the scoring 3:25 into the first quarter as sophomore Kendall O'Brien (Townsend, MA) fired a shot inside the right post for her second score of the season for the 1-0 edge.
The Falcons doubled (2-0) its advantage at the 11:45 mark when O'Brien fed a pass to senior Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT), who put a shot into the back of the cage for her first score of the 2025-26 campaign.
The Green and Gold upped the margin in the 19th minute of action with O'Brien firing a shot into the upper left corner for her second goal of the contest for 3-0 edge going into the br
Following the intermission, Fitchburg State upped the lead to 4-0 at the 33:44 mark when senior Olivia Narkevicius (Phillipston, MA) blasted a shot into the left side of the cage for her third marker of the year.
Rivier cut the deficit to 4-1 in the 36th minute of play as senior Reilly Swislosky (Webster, NH) found junior Shaelyn Burke (Salem, NH) in front of the cage and put a shot inside the near post for her first tally of the year to make the score 4-1.
With the score 5-1, the Raiders answered at the 54:42 mark with junior Brianna Spinelli (Lynn, MA) gathering a pass from Swislowsky and depositing a shot inside the far post for her third score of the year before the Falcons capped the scoring late in contest when sophomore Leah Cavanagh (Leominster, MA) settled a feed from Narkevicius and connected on her first collegiate tally, resulting in the 6-2 fina
