Baseball Takes Down Rams on Senior Day
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State baseball team took down the Rams of Framingham State on Senior Day by a score of 12-6. The Falcons celebrated 15 seniors: Jason Bickford, Joseph DiCrosta, Cole DuHaime, Liam Goldstein, Joseph Hartnett, Nolan Hills, Jacob Hurrell, Matthew Kelly, Maxwell Kelly, Cameron May, Eric Mccallum, Michael Nazzaro, Jake Santulli, and Matthew Smith.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After falling behind 1-0 after the top of the first, Smith would come up and deliver a two-run double deep into left field. DuHaime would add onto the Fitchburg lead, making it 3-1 with an RBI single to right field.
- The Rams would bring the game back within one after Dane Frellick hit a two-run shot to left center field. The Falcons would go back up by five after scoring one in the bottom of the 3rd on a Goldstein walk and three in the fifth inning. Hills started the bottom of the fifth with a solo shot to left center. That was followed by a run coming across on a throwing error by the catcher. Nazzaro would add on the third and final run of the inning on an RBI groundout.
- The Rams would make it an 8-6 game in the top of the seventh after back-to-back triples by Rosco Palmer and Massimo Mondi. The Falcons would respond in the bottom half of the inning by scoring four runs of their own. Santulli started it off with an RBI walk. Hills then delivered on a single down the left field line, plating two. Maccallum brought in the final run on a single to center field, getting the 12-6 final.

- Hartnett got the win (2-6) after going 6 innings with 9 hits allowed, 6 earned runs, and 3 strikeouts.
- Bickford threw in 2 innings for the Falcons in relief. He would strike out 3, with the third, he'd reach the milestone of 100 strikeouts.
- Austin Buda suffered the loss (0-1) after going 2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 4 earned, and 1 walk.
