Women's Soccer Edged By Wolves In Non-Conference Action
Kennedy and Moore net goals for Green & Gold
Fitchburg, MA – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to the Wolves of Western Connecticut State University this evening in non-conference action from Elliot Field.

How It Happened
Western Connecticut State opened the scoring in the fifth minute of play as sophomore Shannon Anderson (New Milford, CT) fired a shot into the upper left corner for her ninth marker on the season for the 1-0 edge.
The Wolves doubled their advantage two minutes later with senior Hannah Blacher (Allendale, NJ) converting a penalty kick for her sixth score of the 2025-26 campaign to make the score 2-0.The visitors upped the margin at 31:00 when freshman Morgan Marcuss (Meriden, CT) headed a loose ball into the left side of the net for her third goal on the year for the 3-0 edge going into the break.
Following the break, Fitchburg State cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 64th minute as junior Noelle Kennedy (Walpole, MA) settled a feed from senior Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, NJ),who deposited a shot inside the far post for her third goal on the season.
The Falcons answered again with just under six minutes remaining in the contest with senior Sophia Moore (Killingly, CT) firing a free kick into the upper left for her first marker on the year, resulting in the 3-2 final.
