Ice Hockey Bested by Anna Maria MASCAC Showdown
AUBURN, MA: In an intense MASCAC hockey contest, the Fitchburg State Falcons were defeated by the Anna Maria AMCATS with a final score of 6-3 at Horgan Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The game started with the Falcons trailing after the first period, as the score stood at 1-0 in favor of Anna Maria. The AMCATS loan goal in the first was scored by Dylan McElhinny.
- However, the Falcons made a significant comeback in the second period, with Marcus Macchioni (N. Kingstown, RI), Jeremy Maillet (Leominster, MA), and Elowan Orme Lynch (Courbevoie, France) each netting a goal, bringing the score to 3-2 in favor of Fitchburg State heading into the final period. Jack Johansen (Milford, NH), Matteo Orme Lynch (Courbevoie, France), Samuel Rennick (Salisbury, MA), and Hunter Dunn (Douglas, MA) all contributed assists to the Falcons' efforts.
- Despite the Falcons' strong performance in the second, the AMCATS managed to counter in the third period, securing a total of four more goals. McElhinny made a critical impact by scoring the game-winning goal for Anna Maria right after Guillaume Coulombe's power play score that got the third period started. After McElhinny's game-winner, Matthew Byrne and Tobias Omholt finished out the game for Anna Maria, getting them to the 6-3 final.
