Boston, MA. – The Fitchburg State field hockey team earned a 2-0 victory over the Sharks of Simmons University in non-conference action this evening from Daly Field.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State opened the scoring at the 10:28 mark as senior Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) fired a shot into the right side of the cage for her seventh score of the year for the 1-0 margin. Simmons nearly knotted the score in the 14th minute of play when freshman Clio Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, ME) put a shot on frame the sophomore Samantha Jones (Uxbridge, MA) cleared off the goal line for the defensive save.
Following the intermission, the Falcons doubled their advantage at the 40:03 mark with sophomore Kendall O'Brien (Townsend, MA) gathering a feed from Yates and depositing a shot inside the far post for her sixth goal of the 2025-26 campaign, resulting in the 2-0 final.
