Softball Drops A Pair Of Non-Conference Contests On Day Five Of The Space Coast Tournament
Marshall and Mueller pace the Green & Gold
Melbourne, FL. – The Fitchburg State University softball team fell twice on day five action of the 2025 Space Coast Tournament as the Falcons dropped a 15-0 decision to the Saints of Aquinas before falling 6-0 to the Hawks of the University of Hartford in the nightcap.

How It Happened
Game One
Aquinas opened the scoring in the top of the first inning as senior Carson Hendrickson (Mt. Morris, MI) laced a bases clearing double to center field before sophomore Mallory Buikema (Rockford, MI) and junior Jaden Delchambre (Henderson, NV) added RBI base knocks for 5-0 advantage.
The Saints pushed the lead to 11-0 in the following frame when junior Alea Fisher (Buchanan, MI) connected on the three-run inside the park home run, while Carson and senior Jaden Benschoter (Adrian, MI) followed with RBI hits.
Aquinas secured the victory in the top of the fifth as sophomore Patrina Marsh (Davenport, MI) laced an RBI double down the left field line before newcomer Abby Nieswender (Parma Western, MI) added a three-run double to left center, resulting in the 15-0 final.

Hartford grabbed a 1-0 edge in the bottom of the first as sophomore Alexis Sealey (Pleasant Hill, CA) walked, stole second, advanced to third on a groundout before senior Olivia Wolk (Sugarloaf, PA) tripled to left center to plate Sealey.
The Hawks upped the lead to 3-0 in the bottom of third when freshman Ella Zobel (Clarence, NY) singled to center field to bring in senior Sarah Serrano (Windsor, CT) before Wolk tripled to right center, scoring Zobel.
Hartford pushed the margin to 6-0 in the bottom of fifth with Zobel and sophomore Sydney Matz (Ellington, CT) collecting RBI. Fitchburg State threatened in the top of the sixth when junior Adria McKenzie (Lowell, MA) walked, freshman Paige Konopka (Middlefield, CT) singled and classmate Kaleigh Papierski (Webster, MA) reached on a fielders' choice to load the bases, but junior Carly Mayhood (Newton, NJ) worked out of the jam, resulting in the 6-0 final.
