Women’s Soccer Falls Short to Blazers

The Fitchburg State women’s soccer team lost to the Blazers of Elms College in non-conference play this evening with a 2-1 final.   

CHICOPEE, MA: The Fitchburg State women's soccer team lost to the Blazers of Elms College in non-conference play this evening with a 2-1 final.   

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/3/25

- Score: Elms 2, Fitchburg 1

- Records: Elms (2-1), Fitchburg (1-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Falcons opened up the scoring in the 18th minute. Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, NJ) found the back of the net for the first time this season. Stella Liebler (Cheshire, CT) found Westcott for the go-ahead goal.

- The Falcons held a 1-0 lead for most of the game. However, Elms tied it up in the 72nd minute with an unassisted goal from Jordan Lee. The Blazers soon regained the lead, just four minutes later, when Jamie McDonough scored the game-winning goal.  

- Breanna White earned the win (1-0) after facing eight shots on goal and making seven saves. Madison Dawkins (Haverhill, MA) and Mia Herron (Mendon, MA) shared goalkeeping duties again this evening, with Dawkins starting and Herron finishing the game. Dawkins made five saves in the first half, keeping Elms off the board. Herron, who took the loss (0-1), surrendered two goals and faced three shots on goal, making one save.

UP NEXT:

- Fitchburg State women's soccer will return Saturday at 11 AM. They will start conference play with Worcester, making the trip to Elliot Field.
