Women's Outdoor Track Shines At 2025 Tuft Sunshine Classic
Scott sets Falcons program record in the triple jump with mark of 11.20 meters
Medford, MA. – The Fitchburg State University Women's Outdoor Track & Field team returned to action on Saturday as they competed at the 2025 Tufts Sunshine Classic at the Dussault Track.

How It Happened
Junior Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, placing fourth overall in the triple jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 11.20 meters to set the Falcons program record, set by Sharon Boggs (11.19M0) in 1984 before adding a fifth place, DIII New England qualifying mark of 5.23 meters in the long jump.
Freshman Sophia Hepler (Orono, ME) was also solid for the Green and Gold, placing third in javelin with a throw of 33.13 meters as well as finishing fifth in the discus (33.64M), 20th in the hammer throw (26.29M) and 17th in the shot put (9.02M).
In the 5000 meter, junior Skye Goba (Norton, MA) took top honors with a time of 19:58.88, while senior Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) finished third overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17,98 seconds.
Freshman Arieyana Robinson (Worcester, MA) (tenth), Scott (11th) and junior Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) (15th) turned times of 13.79, 14.01 and 14.41 seconds in the 100 meter, while the 4x100 meter relay team of newcomer Maribelis Alcantara (Salem, MA), Robinson, Velez and Scott placed third overall with a time of 53.36 seconds.
In the 400 meter hurdles, DiCato placed sixth overall with a time of 1:15.91, while Robinson turned in a seventh place time of 28.80 seconds in the 200 meter.
In the field, junior Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) (13th), sophomore Tayor Crout (Boise, ID) (14th) and sophomore Joey Schmidt-Gross (Sudbury, MA) (27th) posted tosses of 32.52M, 31.82M, and 22.45M in the hammer throw, while in the discus, Crout (31.14M), senior Sophia Salamone (Falmouth, ME) (22.47M) and Israelson (21.31M) placed eighth, 16th and 19th
In the javelin, Salamone (11th) and Israelson (15th) posted throws of 24.19 meters and 18.51 meters, while Crout (10.07M), Israelson (9.53M) and Schmidt-Gross (5.73M) finished tenth, 15th and 18th in the shot put.
In the shot put, Crout placed eighth overall with tosses of 9.49 meters, while Salamone added a 20th place throw of 20.89 meters in the javelin.
Rounding out the top Falcon efforts on the day was Velez, who placed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 4.45 meters
