Field Hockey Topples Pride in Season Opener
WESTON, MA: The Fitchburg State field hockey team won its season opener this evening with a 2-1 victory over non-conference opponent Regis College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fitchburg scored first in the third quarter, 32 minutes into the game. Olivia Narkevicius (Phillipston, MA) scored the first goal of the season for the Falcons.
- Fitchburg led into the fourth quarter or until minute 47. Regis tied it up at 1-1 after Mackenzie O'Shea beat the Falcon keeper. The tie didn't last more than eight minutes, as Samantha Jones (Uxbridge, MA) scored the game-winner with just under five minutes left. Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) made the pass to Jones, earning her an assist.
- Isabella Corcoran (Braintree, MA) earned her first win of the 2025 season after making two saves on three shots faced. Allayna Martone took the loss for the Pride after allowing two goals. She faced 12 shots on goal and saved ten of them.
