Men's Outdoor Track Places Third At MASCAC Championships

Bridgewater, MA. – The Fitchburg State University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team finished third overall at the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championships with a total of 131 points today, hosted by Bridgewater State.

Junior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, finishing second in javelin with an All-New England qualifying throw of 65.46 meters, while placing first in the hammer throw, first in the discus and second in the shot put with DIII New England qualifying throws of 51.54 meters, 43.72 meters, and 14.55 meters, while senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) placed second overall in the hammer throw with a DIII NE qualifying toss of 47.83 meters as well as finishing 11th in discus (32.90M), fifth in the shot put (13.34M) and seventh in the javelin (38,72M)).
Sophomore Keenan Ansah (Plymouth, MA) was also solid for the Green and Gold, finishing sixth overall in the long jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 6.60 meters and second in the 400 meter with a DIII NE qualifying time of 49.49 seconds, while sophomore Tyler Kwamo ((Auburn. MA) finished second in the high jump and second in the triple jump with a DIII NE qualifying marks of 1.90 meters and 13.33 meters.
In the 10000 meter, junior Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) and graduate student Cameron Davis (Gardner, MA) placed third and fifth overall with times of 34:51.49 and 36:45.51, while the 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA), Ansah, sophomore Jesse Moriello (Saugus, MA) and sophomore Derrick Tawiah (Worcester, MA) added a fourth place time of 44.45 seconds.
In the 3000 meter steeplechase, senior Taban Manyok (Lynn, MA) (2nd), sophomore Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) (4th) and sophomore Matthew Gill (Ayer, MA) (5th) posted times of 10:09.24, 10:58.57 and 11:41.18, while in the 100 meter, Tawiah registered an 18th place time of 12.24 seconds.
Junior Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) (4:21.18) and freshman Brendan Guenard (Andover, MA) (4:48.91) placed sixth and seventh overall in the 1500 meter, while Clottier (8th), sophomore Matth Telson (Everett, MA) (11th), junior Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) (12th) and Tawiah (15th) posted times of 52.55, 53.16, 53.51 and 54.48 seconds in the 400 meter,
In the 110 meter hurdles, freshman Joseph Imbracsio (North Billerica, MA) and classmate William McGurl (Billerica, MA) finished sixth and seventh overall with times of 18.90 seconds and 19.80 seconds, while in the 800 meter, senior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA), Guenard and Telson finished seventh, ninth and 14th with times of 2:03.32, 2:04.40 and 2:08.73,
Clottier added a 13th place time of 23.67 seconds in the 200 meter, while in the 5000 meter, Manyok (4th), Burns (sixth), Lancaster (eighth) and Elmi (ninth) posted times of 16:22.08, 16:27.99, 17:15.82 and 17:43.97.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Madigan, Gill, Lancaster and Guenard turned in a third place time of 8:45.69, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Ansah, Tawiah, Clottier and Manyok, finished third overall with a time of 3:34.61.
In the field, sophomore John Koutsouoa (Birdsboro, PA) registered tosses of 36.88 meters, 25.44 meters and 11.07 meters in the hammer throw (seventh), discus (19th) and shot put (14th), while sophomore Colin Anderson (South Weymouth, MA) added a fifth place effort in the javelin with a toss of 46.02 meters,
In the long jump, freshman Christopher Adamchek (Carlisle, MA) finished seventh overall with a mark of 6.35 meters and fourth in the triple jump at 12,40 meters, while sophomore Colin Anderson (South Weymouth, MA) finished fifth in the javelin with a toss of 50.14 meters.
Rounding out the top efforts for the Green and Gold was sophomore Tyler Kwamo (Auburn, MA), who placed tenth in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters, while Gill turned in a fifth place mark of 2.95 meters in the pole vault.
