Bridgewater, MA. – The Fitchburg State field hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Bears of Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from Mazzaferro Field this morning.

How It Happened
Bridgewater State opened the scoring at the 26:52 mark as junior Madison Ellis (Attleboro, MA) settled a feed from sophomore Samantha Souza (Dartmouth, MA) and fired a shot into the left side of the cage for her second tally on the year for the 1-0 edge.
The Bears doubled their advantage (2-0) roughly one minute late when junior Abby Zuber (Westport, MA) buried a shot into the back of the cage for her 15th marker of the season.
Following the break, Fitchburg State cut the deficit to 2-1 just 35 seconds into the third quarter with sophomore Madison Butler (Carver, MA) collected a pass from classmate Kendall O'Brien (Townsend, MA) and deposited a shot into the right side for her four score of the 2025-26 campaign, resulting in the 2-1 final.
