Bison Take Down Women’s Soccer in Non-Conference Action
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State women's soccer team dropped a non-conference game this afternoon to the Bison of Nichols College by a score of 4-2.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bison quickly took a 1-0 lead early in the first half, just 3:56 in. Summer Bruno found an opening in the lower part of the net for the go-ahead goal. Haley Bethin was credited with the assist. Nichols added another goal less than four minutes later, when Falyn Hunt beat the Falcons' keeper low again, making it 2-0. This time, it was Avery Quesnel, who assisted on the score. The Bison finished the half with a third goal at 18:57, making it a 3-0 game. Aly Hernandez found teammate Caroline Shields open for a top-shelf score.
- Nichols started the second half with its fourth goal at the 49-minute mark. Bethin found the back of the net this time for her third point of the game. Hunt also earned her third point of the contest through an assist. The Falcons scored in the 66th minute, with Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, NJ) netting her second goal of the season, beating the Bison goalkeeper low and to the left. Fitchburg then cut the deficit to just two with another goal in the 87th minute. Emilee Larson (Spencer, MA) scored her first collegiate goal to close out the game, resulting in a 4-2 final.
- Isabella Dupret will get the win (1-4) after making six saves on just one goal allowed. Madison Dawkins (Haverhill, MA) suffered the loss (1-1) for the Falcons after making eight saves and allowing four goals.
