Men's Outtdoor Track Shines At Jim Sheehan Invitational On Senior Day
Bourassa qualifies for All-NE's in the javelin
Fitchburg, MA. – The Fitchburg State University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team hosted its annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational today at Elliot Field as the Falcons honored six seniors prior to the start of the meet with the seniors being Aidan Cattelan, Cameron Davis, Casey LaCombe, Joshua Leaffer, Taban Manyok and Cameron Monette for their contributions to the program.

Junior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, finishing first in the javelin with an All-New England qualifying throw of 62.99 meters, first in the shot put, first in the hammer throw and second in the discus with a DIII New England qualifying tosses of 13.82 meters, 52.46 meters and 44.48 meters, while senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) placed second overall in the hammer throw with a DIII NE qualifying toss of 49.40 meters as well as finishing third in shot put (12.12M) and 23rd in the discus (29.22M).
Freshman Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) took top honors in the 3000 meter steeple chase with a DIII New England qualifying time of 10:03.17, while adding a second place time of 2:05.25 in the 800 meter.
In the 10000 meter, senior Casey LaCombe (South Hadley, MA) posted an eighth place time of 38:49.22, while in the 3000 meter steeple chase, senior Taban Manyok (Lynn, MA) (2nd), junior Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) (4th) and sophomore Matthew Gill (Ayer, MA) (7th) turned in times of 10:10.44, 10:16.63 and 11:51.52.
In the 1500 meter, junior Joshua Lancaster (Hadley, MA) (4:29.18),senior Aidan Cattelan (West Hartford, CT) (4:53.95) and senior Joshua Leaffer (North Andover, MA) (4:57.20) placed eighth, 19th and 20th respectively, while newcomers Patrick Shaughnessy (Plymouth, MA) (7th), William McGurl (Billerica, MA) (11th) and Joseph Imbracsio (North Billerica, MA) (12th) turned times of 16.96, 19.14 and 19.24 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles.
The 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA), sophomore Derrick Tawiah (Worcester, MA), classmate Jesse Moriello (Plymouth, MA) and freshman Christopher Adamchek (Carlisle, MA) posted fifth place time 45.82 seconds, while sophomore Keenan Ansah () (52.02), Tawiah (55.20), junior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (55.70) and junior Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) (56.03) placed third, 12th, 15th and 18th in the 400 meter.
In the 100 meter, senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) (38th), newcomer Logan Cashman () (46th) and junior Robert Williams (Lynn, MA) (50th) posted times of 12.62, 13.47 and 14.38 seconds, while freshman Brendan Guenard (Andover, MA) (2:05.03), sophomore Matth Telson (Everett, MA) (2:09.78) and sophomore Markenson Charles (Lowell, MA) (2:28.24) finished first, fourth and 23rd overall in the 800 meter.
Moriello (1:02.59), Shaughnessy (1:06.27), Gill (1:09.51), McGurl (1:12.81) and Imbracsio (1:24.91) finished sixth, 11th, 13th, 14th and 16th respectively in the 400 hurdles, while in the 200 meter, Clottier Jr (23.70), Tawiah (24.51), junior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (26.27) and Williams (30.74) finished ninth, 18th, 30th and 36th respectively.
In the 5000 meter, Lancaster (ninth) and graduate student Cameron Davis (Gardner, MA) (tenth) posted times of 17:39.16 and 18:05.88, while the 4x800 meter relay team of Cattelan, Lancaster, Elmi and Madigan posted a second place time of 9:37.05.
In the field, sophomore John Koutsouoa (Birdsboro, PA) registered tosses of 35.65 meters and 11.73 meters in the hammer throw (8th) and shot put (5th).
In the long jump, Adamchek (3rd) and sophomore Keenan Ansah (Plymouth, MA) (5th) notched marks of 6.44 meters and 6.38 meters, while in the pole vault, sophomore Tyler Kwamo (Auburn, MA) (2.65M) and Gill (2.65M) finished tied for seventh.
Rounding out the top efforts for the Green and Gold was Kwamo, who finished second overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters.
