How It Happened

Fitchburg State opened the scoring at the 14:34 mark as senior Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) fired a shot into the right side of the cage for her fifth marker on the season to make the score 1-0 going into the break.

Following the intermission, the Vikings nearly knotted the score late in the contest when sophomore Mikayla Talbot (Scarborough, ME), junior Allison Thomas (Carver, MA) and senior Hannah Cochran (Marshfield, MA) put a trio of shots on frame, but Falcons keeper Isabella Corcoran (Braintree, MA) stood tall, turning all three shots aside to preserve the 1-0 victory.
