Field Hockey Flies Past Amcats In Conference Action

How It Happened

Fitchburg State opened the scoring 2:35 into the first quarter as senior Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) settled a feed from sophomore Ashley Willey (Halfmoon, NY) and deposited a shot into the left side of the cage for her fourth marker on the season for the 1-0 edge.

Following the intermission, the Falcons doubled their lead (2-0) at the 38:54 mark when senior Olivia Narkevicius (Phillipston, MA) received a pass from Willey and found the back of the net for her fifth tally on the year,

The Green and Gold secured the victory in the 48th minute of action with Narkevicius firing a shot into the right side of the cage for her second goal of the contest with an assist from Willey, resulting the 3-0 final.
