Women's Basketball Falls To Lasers In Non-Conference Action
S. Hart nets double-double of 12 points & ten rebounds for Green and Gold
Newton, MA – The Fitchburg State women's basketball team dropped a 78-51 decision to the Lasers of Lasell University this evening in non-conference action from the Lasell Athletic Center.

How It Happened
1st quarter
Fitchburg State raced out to an early 11-4 edge on buckets from seniors Stephanie Hart (Shirley, MA) and Kathryn Hart (Shirley, MA) as well as junior Kaelynn Tanner (Lowell, MA) before Lasell trimmed the deficit to 11-9 as freshman Abigail Duclos (Weare, NH) hit a three-ball and classmate Elainaa Villegas (Bradenton, Fl) added a layup. The Falcons pushed the advantage to 13-9 with K. Hart netting a jumper.
2nd quarter
Lasell opened the second quarter on a 10-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from junior Kiara Cerruti (Canton, MA) for the 19-13 edge, but the Falcons answered back with a layup by junior Alexis DeSimone (Ashburnham, MA) (19-15). The Green and Gold reduced the lead to 23-23 when senior Rylie Harlow (Hansen, MA) buried a three-pointer and baskets by S. Hart and sophomore Madison Dawkins (Haverhill, MA) before the Lasers took a 31-22 lead into the break as newcomer Nai Leigh (Dallas, TX) connected on a jumper.
3rd quarter
Following the intermission, Fitchburg State trimmed the lead tp 33-26 as S. Hart registered a layup. but Lasell extended the margin to 46-31 as junior Laura Johnson (Groton, CT) netted a bucket. The Falcons responded with a pair of free-throws from Harlow (51-34) before sophomore Blaize Mack (Chicopee, MA) connected a pair from the charity stripe to make then score 56-34,
4th quarter
The Lasers upped the advantage to 63=37 when Johnson notched a bucket before the Falcons cut the deficit to 70-42 with Harlow notching a layup and freshman Jaeleigh Perry (Lynn, MA) adding a free-throw, Newcomer Ashley Hart (Shirley, MA) would sink two free-throws as well as layup to trim the deficit to 78-49, but Lasell held on for the 78-51 victory.

- S. Hart finished a team-best 12 points, ten rebounds and one steal
- K. Hart added ten points, two caroms, two steals and two assists
- For the Lasers, Mack collected a game-leading 15 points, nine boards and two steals
