Field Hockey Soars Past Fighting Scots
Tibbets nets hat trick for the Falcons
Wenham, MA. – The Fitchburg State field hockey team registered a 6-0 triumph over the Fighting Scots of Gordon College this evening in non-conference action from the Brigham Athletic Complex.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State grabbed the lead at the 13:31 as junior Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) collected a feed from senior Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) and fired a shot into the right side of the cage for her team-leading 12th marker on the year for the 1-0 edge.
The Falcons doubled the lead in the 19th minute of action when senior Jessica Morse (Leominster, MA) deposited a shot inside the near post for her second goal of the 2024 campaign to make the score 2-0 going into the break.
Following the intermission, the Green and Gold pushed the lead to 3-0 at the 38:06 mark of the third quarter with Tibbetts gathering a pass from Morse and putting a shot into the back of the cage for her fifth score of the season.
Following a pair of scores from Tibbets, Fitchburg State capped the scoring with just under eight minutes remaining in the contest as freshman Madison Butler (Carver, MA) buried a shot into the right side of cage off an assist from senior Alexis Raymond (Tewksbury, MA) for her first collegiate tally, resulting in the 6-0 final.
