Corcoran Named MASCAC Defensive Player Of The Week
Braintree, MA native notches first MASCAC weekly honor of the season
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore goaltender Isabella Corcoran (Braintree, MA) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Corcoran collected her first weekly accoladed of the year after posting 14 saves with a 1.00 goals against average and a save percentage of .875 in a 1-1 week for the Green and Gold. Isabella stopped all five shots she faced in a 1-0 triumph over the Bison of Nichols College on Wednesday before adding nine saves in a 2-1 setback to Clark University on Sunday.
The Fitchburg State field hockey team (2-1, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as they host the Raiders of Rivier University for a non-conference tilt, starting at 4:00PM.
