Leominster, Mass. native picks up first weekly accolade of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior goalkeeper Jenna Morse (Leominster, Mass.) was recently selected Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The third-year Falcon collects her first weekly honor of the season after totaling 25 saves with a .962 save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average with one shutout in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. Morse turned aside 21 shots in a 6-1 victory over Westfield State on Wednesday before making four saves in a 1-0 triumph against Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday to earn her fifth career shutout.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team (6-5, 4-2 LEC) returns to action on Tuesday as they host the Owls of Keene State for a Little East Conference matchup, starting at 4:00 PM.
