Stuttgart, Germany native picks up fourth weekly honor of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Lena Kassel (Stuttgart, Germany) was recently named Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The first-year Falcon collects her fourth weekly accolade of the season after registering seven points on three goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold. Lena notched on helper in a 3-1 triumph over Keene State on Tuesday before adding a hat trick in a 6-2 victory over Castleton on Friday.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team (8-5, 6-2 LEC) returns to action Wednesday as they travel to Southern Maine to take on the Huskies for a Little East Conference bout, starting at 7:00 PM.
