Women's Indoor Track Places Seventh at Branwen Smith King Invitational
Crout paces Green and Gold with pair of MASCAC qualifying marks in weight throw and shot put
Medford, MA. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team placed seventh overall with a total of five points at the 2025 Branwen Smith-King Invitational, hosted by Tufts University at the Gantcher Center.

How It Happened
Junior Skye Goba (Norton, MA) paced the Falcons with a tenth place effort in the 3000 meter with a MASCAC qualifying time of 12:22.22, while sophomore Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) placed sixth in the weight throw and eighth in the shot put with MASCAC qualifying tosses of 12.39 meters and 9.91 meters respectively.
In the 60 meter, freshman Maribelis Alcantara (Salem, MA) posted a MASCAC qualifying time of 8.92 seconds with a 20th place finish, while in the 400 meter, junior Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) (8th) (MASCAC qualifier), classmate Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) (13th) (MASCAC qualifier), junior Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) (14th) and freshman Christina Apolon (Brooklyn, NY) (16th) turned times of 1:06.61.1:09.54, 1:12.81 and 1:23.81 respectively.
In the long jump, Velez (4.15M) (MASCAC qualifier) and Alcantara (3.60M) placed 15th and 20th respectively, while in the weight throw, junior Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) and freshman Sophia Hepler (Orono, ME) turned MASCAC qualifying tosses of 10.58 meters and 8.70 meters after finishing 13th and 20th.
Rounding out the top Falcons efforts on the day were Hepler (9.07M) (MASCAC qualifier) and Isrealson (8.57M), finishing 12th and 15th in the shotput, while in the 200 meter, newcomer Arieyana Robinson (Worcester, MA) (21st) (MASCAC qualifier), Alcantara (28th) and Velez (31st) posted times of 29.59, 30.99 and 31.01 seconds.
