Women's Indoor Track Shines At Wesleyan Indoor Invitational

Middletown, CT. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the 2025 Wesleyan Indoor Invitational today at the Bacon Field House.

How It Happened
Junior Skye Goba (Norton, MA) led the way for the Falcons with a fourth place finish in the mile with a MASCAC qualifying time of 5:53.02, while junior Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) turned in a fifth place, MASCAC qualifying time of 1:07.16 in the 400 meter and 20th in the 200 meter with a post-season qualifying time of 29.59 seconds. Scott concluded the day, placing eighth in the triple jump with a MASCAC qualifying mark of 9.30 meters.
In the 60 meter, freshman Arieyana Robinson (Worcester, MA) (8.76) (MASCAC qualifier), classmate Maribelis Alcantara (Salem, MA) (8.97) and junior Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) (9.04) finished 17th, 22nd and 25th respectively, while freshman Christina Apolon (Brooklyn, NY) placed 17th in the 400 meter with a time of 1;20.87.
In the 800 meter, junior Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) posted an eighth place time of 2:52.31, while Robinson and Alcantara notched MASCAC qualifying times of 29.76 and 30.21 seconds in the 200 meter after finishing 23rd and 25th.
In the shot put, freshman Sophia Hepler (Orono, ME) and junior Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) posted MASCAC qualifying tosses of 8.87 meters and 8.35 meters after finishing 16th and 19th, while in the long jump, Velez and Alcantara notched MASCAC qualifying marks of 4.20 meters and 3.63 meters after finishing 13th and 14th in the event.
Rounding out the top Falcons efforts on the day were Israelson, junior Sophia Salamone (Falmouth, ME) and Hepler with MASCAC qualifying tosses of 11.42M, 10.34M and 9.03M after finishing eighth, 11th and 18th in the event.
