Women's Indoor Track Excels At Bates "Fresh" Tune Up
Crout leads the way for Green & Gold with pair of top five efforts
Lewiston, ME. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team returned to action today as they competed at the 2025 Bates "Fresh" Tune Up at the Merrill Gymnasium.

How It Happened
Junior Skye Goba (Norton, MA) led the way for the Falcons with an eighth place finish in the mile with time of 5:45.57, while sophomore Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) notched a third place effort in the weight throw with a toss of 12.70 meters as well as finishing fifth in the shotput with a toss of 9.71 meters.
In the 60 meter hurdles, junior Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) (tenth) and junior Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) (12th) turned times of 10.77 and 11.49 seconds, while in the 60 meter, freshman Arieyana Robinson (Worcester, MA) (8.58) and classmate Maribelis Alcantara (Salem, MA) (8.90) finished 13th and 16th overall.
In the 400 meter, freshman Christina Apolon (Brooklyn, NY) turned a ninth place time of 1:22.96, while in the 600 meter, DiCato placed third overall with a time of 1:55.77. The 4x200 meter relay team of Robinson, Velez, Alcantara and junior Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) posted a second place time of 1:56.98.
In the 200 meter, Robinson (14th) and Apolon (19th) posted times of 29.06 and 33.77 seconds, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Velez, DiCato, Goba and Apolon turned in a fourth place time of 4:57.45.
In the field, freshman Sophia Hepler (Orono, ME) placed eighth in the shotput with a throw of 8.94 meters, while in the weight throw, graduate student Sophia Salamone (Falmouth, ME) and Hepler (9.99M) finished ninth and 12th.
In the long jump, Velez (4.11M) and Alcantara (3.88M) finished tenth and 12th, while in the triple jump, Scott finished fourth overall with a mark of 10.34 meters.
