Women's Lacrosse Topped By Cougars In Non-Conference Action
White nets hat-trick for the Green & Gold
Worcester, MA. – The Fitchburg State Women's Lacrosse team dropped a tough 13-8 decision to the Cougars of Clark University this evening in non-conference action from Granger Field.

How It Happened
Clark grabbed a two lead in the first period as senior Meghan Fogarty (Melrose, MA) tailed back-to-back markers before Fitchburg State rattled off four unanswered markers with scores from sophomore Hannah Azzari (Haverhill, MA) and seniors Delaney Ponder (E. Bridgewater, MA), Breanna White (Peabody, MA) and Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) for the 4-2 edge.
In the second quarter of play, the Cougars regained the advantage (6-4) as Fogarty found the back of the net twice, while junior Elizabeth Cacciapaglia (Ridgefield, CT) and senior Aubrey Connors (Devon, PA) added one goal each. The Falcons answered back as Tibbetts collected her second tally of the contest to cut the deficit to 6-5, but the hosts pushed the margin to 9-5 with Cacciapaglia registering another two scores. The Green and Gold closed out the scoring in the first half when junior Jessica St. George (Dracut, MA) connected on a marker to make the score 9-6 going into the break.
Following the intermission, Fitchburg State trimmed the lead to 9-7 as White connected on her second score on the evening before Clark extended the advantage to 12-7 with Fogarty collecting two goals and one score from Cacciapaglia.
In the final period of play, the Falcons answered when White completed the hat-trick to cut the deficit to 12-8, but the Cougars secured the victory late in the frame with Connors closing out the scoring, resulting in the 12-8 final.
