Women's Lacrosse Falls to Bridgewater

FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team fell to Bridgewater State this evening in conference action by a score of 21-10.

FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team fell to Bridgewater State this evening in conference action by a score of 21-10.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/14/25

- Score: Bridgewater 21, Fitchburg 10.

- Records: Bridgewater (10-3, 2-1 MASCAC), Fitchburg State (2-10, 1-2 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The first quarter was a competitive back-and-forth 15 minutes, with a 6-4 score at its conclusion. Bridgwater's Meredith Sylvia got the game started in the opening minute with her first goal. Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) would respond two minutes later with her first of three goals. After two Bridgwater scored, Tibbetts would find the back of the net again with 9:33 left. Jessica St. George (Dracut, MA) would then tie the game up at three, then give the Falcons their only lead of the day 4-3. The Bears would respond quickly, however, and knot it back up before going back on top with two quick goals from Erin McIntyre. The quarter would end with a third straight goal from Bridgewater's Ashley Silva.

- The second quarter was all Bridgwater, as they outscored the Falcons 8-1, making it a 14-5 game at the break. McIntyre would go on to score three more goals for the Bears. Camryn Gonsalves added three goals to the second quarter total. The lone Fitchburg goal scored in the quarter was from Kiley McFadden (Tewksbury, MA) on an assist by Alexis Raymond (Tewksbury, MA).

- The third quarter saw a 6-1 advantage by Bridgewater, making it a 20-6 game. This time, it was Riley Bina who highlighted the quarter with two goals. The Falcons' goal in the third was scored by Raymond off of a free-position shot.

- The final quarter saw the Falcons score four goals to the Bears' one, getting the 21-10 final. St. George scored her third of the game and getting her 100th career point. Tibbetts would also get her third later in the period, followed by Jeannine Preston (Plymouth, MA) and Nicole Orlowski (Ellington, CT).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Sara Skaff would get the win (9-3) after making three saves and six goals allowed.

Elizabeth Smith (Plymouth, MA) would suffer the loss (0-2) after making 15 saves and allowing 21 goals.

-  Shots: Bridgewater 40, Fitchburg 24

- Draws: Bridgewater 23, Fitchburg 12
