Women's Lacrosse Rally Falls Short in Season Opener Against Lasell
NEWTON, MA: The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team faced a challenging start in their regular season opener with a loss against the Lasell University Lasers at Grellier Field. Despite leading at halftime with a score of 4-2, the Falcons couldn't maintain their lead, finishing the game with an 8-13 loss in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Falcons, known for their resilient play, started strong, with Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) impressively scoring four goals throughout the game. Additional contributions came from Nicole Orlowski (Ellington, CT), Abaigeal Doheny (Lunenburg, MA), Kiley McFadden (Tewksbury, MA), and Delaney Ponder (E. Bridgewater, MA), who all found the net once, showcasing the team's balanced offensive capabilities. Assists were also part of the Falcons' tactical play, with Tibbetts, Alexis Raymond (Tewksbury, MA), and Orlowski each setting up goals.
- Lasell was paced by three players, starting with the top scorer, Kaitlin Bedell, who had five goals and one assist. Alice Rourke was just behind her with four goals. The final person to score for the Lasers was Emily Watson, who finished with three goals and an assist.

- Dakin Kovatch (White River Junction, VT) stood as the guardian between the posts, fighting hard to deflect the Lasers' advances, making five saves.
