Pride Outlast Falcons In Lacrosse Action
Weston, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse suffered a 10-8 setback to the Pride of Regis College in non-conference action on Friday afternoon.

How It Happened
Regis grabbed a 3-0 advantage with a pair of scores from junior Kylee Marley (Westerly, RI).
The Falcons answered with back-to-back goals from senior Eva Kozikowski (Portsmouth, NH), but the Pride scored late in the second frame to hold a 4-2 advantage at intermission.
Fitchburg State came out on the attack in the third period. Kozikowski finished the natural hat trick to make it 4-3 at the 12:10 mark. Senior Grace Wetherbee (Marblehead, Mass.) knotted the game (4-4) and classmate Cali Laakso (Fitchburg, Mass.) notched an unassisted tally to give the Falcons the 5-4 lead.
Regis forged ahead 6-5 but sophomore Delaney Ponder (East Bridgewater, Mass.) converted a pass from Kozikowski with 11 seconds left in the quarter to tie the match.
The Pride potted three straight goals to open the fourth quarter. Wetherbee answered with a shorthanded score for the Green and Gold to cut the deficit to 9-7. The teams would trade goals down the stretch resulting in the 10-8 final.
