Falcons Roll Past Rhode Island College
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team sailed past the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College 17-6 in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at Elliot Field.

Freshman Claire
Greene (Storrs, Conn.) gave RIC the early lead with her
18th goal of the season. The Falcons dominated after
that. Three straight scores got the Green and Gold going.
Senior Eva
Kozikowski (Portsmouth, NH) added her team-leading
24th goal while Delaney
Ponder (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and
Nicole
Orlowski (Ellington, Conn.) also tipped the twine.
After RIC cut the score to 3-2, the Falcons reeled off seven unanswered goals. Jessica St. George (Dracut, Mass.) and Kozikowski each had a pair in the run. Greene scored again for the visitors to stop the streak but Fitchburg State closed out the frame with two more including Abaigeal Gilman's (Clinton, Mass.) second of the night.
Newcomer Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) notched her third of the season early in the third quarter to up the Falcons' lead to 15-3. RIC closed out the frame with a pair of goals from Greene and Amara Gibau (North Providence, RI).
Freshman Liliana Guarino (Stoneham, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal for the Falcons at the 6:33 mark of the fourth quarter.
