Camara qualifies for DIII NE's in high jump & 100M hurdles to lead the way for Green & Gold
Cambridge, MA – The Fitchburg State University women's outdoor track & field team competed at the 2024 Sean Collier Invitatitonal today, hosted by MIT today at the Don and Sherie Morrison Track.

How It Happened
Senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, finishing third overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a DIII New England qualifying time of 14,99 seconds as well as placing fourth in the high jump with a DIII NE qualifying mark of 1.62 meters.
The 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Shamya Boulware McKnight (Hartford, CT), freshman Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA), sophomore Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) and sophomore Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) posted a sixth place time of 53.68 seconds, while DiCato added a 22nd place time of 1:09.30 in the 400 meter.
In the 100 meter, sophomore Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) turned in a 25th place time of 14.41 seconds, while in the field, junior Ephemian Bailey (Maple Grove, MN) finished 18th in the discus with a mark of 31.08 meters and 19th in the shotput with a toss of 10.02 meters.
Sophomore Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) placed 27th in the shotput with a throw of 9.14 meters and 24th in the hammer throw with a toss of 29.94 meters, freshman Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) placed 25th in the weight throw with a toss of 29.34 meters, while finishing 27th in the discus with a throw of 29.98 meters. Senior Erin Donelan (Fitchburg, MA) rounded out the top Falcon efforts on day, finishing 23rd in the javelin with a throw of 15.24 meters.
