Falcons Finish Fourth At MASCAC Championships

How It Happened

Senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) paced the Falcons, placing second overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a DIII New England qualifying time of 15.20 seconds as well as finishing third in the high jump with a DIII NE qualifying mark of 1.57 meters. In addition to adding an eighth place effort of 4.55 meters in the long jump.

Sophomore Skye Goba (Norton, MA) was also solid for the Green and Gold, notching a DIII New England qualifying and person best time of 41:00.83 in the 10,000 meter after taking second place in the event, while also placing eighth in the 5000 meter with a time of 20:35.00

The 4x100 meter relay team of sophomores Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA), Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) and Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) and Camara turned in a third place time of 53.35 seconds, while in the 3000 meter steeple chase, freshman Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA) posted a third place time of 14:18.68 to set a new personal best.

In the 200 meter, Scott placed eighth overall with a time of 28.99 seconds, while the 4x800 meter relay team of Toste, DiCato, junior Julia Arena (Shrewsbury, MA) and sophomore Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) notched a third place time of 12:41.46.

In the field, Israelson finished seventh overall in the javelin with a personal best toss of 20.99 meters, while in the shotput, junior Ephemian Bailey (Maple Grove, MN) (10.70M), freshman Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) (10.06M), Israelson (8.83M) and senior Olivia Kephart (Rutland, MA) (8.31M) placed second, fifth, tenth and 13th respectively.

In the hammer throw, Crout (6th) (PR). Israelson (7th), Bailey (8th) (PR) and Kephart (9th) registered tosses of 32.16M, 31.83M, 27.98M and 27.56M, while Bailey (35.64M), Crout (31.71M) and Israelson (25.36M) (PR) finished second, third and ninth in the discus. Dicato and senior Erin Donelan (Fitchburg, MA) rounded out the top Falcon efforts on the day placing seventh and eighth in the 100 meter hurdles with times of 18.80 and 19.20 seconds.
