Falcons Shine At DIII New England Championships
Camara collects DIII NE Honors in the High Jump & 100 meter hurdles
South Hadley, MA – The Fitchburg State University women's outdoor track & field team placed. 27th with a total of ten points at the 2024 DIII New England Championships this weekend, hosted by Mount Holyoke College.

How It Happened
Senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) paced the Falcons, finishing fifth overall in the 100 meter hurdles with an All-New England qualifying time of 14.75 seconds, while adding a third place mark of 1.67 meters in the high jump.
Sophomore Skye Goba (Norton, MA) placed 19th in the 10000 meter with a personal best time of 40:39.48, while junior Ephemian Bailey (Maple Grove, MN) finished 11th overall in the discus with a toss of 37.97 meters.
The 4x100 meter relay team of sophomores Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA), Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) and Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) and Camara turned in a 16th place time of 53.74 seconds, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Velez, Scott, DiCato and freshman Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) posted a 18th place time of 4:33.27 to round out the top Falcon efforts on the day.
