Keene, NH – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision to the Owls of Keene State University this evening in non-conference action from the Owls Athletic Conference.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State nearly opened the scoring in the 12th minute of action as junior Charlotte Meixsell (Boxford, MA) put a shot on frame, but Keene State keeper Hannah Verville (Loudon, NH) turned the shot aside to preserve the 0-0 stalemate.
Keene State's best scoring opportunity of the first occurred at 15:49 mark with sophomore Elizabeth Tschudin (Sunapee, NH) firing a shot on target, only to have Falcon's goalkeeper Cassandra Pendleton (Ware, MA) deny the shot to keep the contest scoreless, going into the break.
Following the intermission, the Owls broke the 0-0 deadlock in the 49th minute of action when junior Christina Sanders (Coram, NY) settled a feed from Tschudin and deposited a shot into the lower left corner for her third goal on the season, resulting in the 1-0 final.
