Women's Soccer Downed by Owls

WESTFIELD, MA: Fitchburg State women's soccer was defeated by the Owls of Westfield State this afternoon in MASCAC action.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/19/24

- Score: Westfield 5. Fitchburg 1

- Records: Westfield (8-3-4, 5-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg (1-10-3, 1-3-1 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Westfield put up two unanswered goals in the first half. The first came in the 19^th minute on a Morgan Berthiaume score. Delaney Parker would follow that up in the 27^th minute, extending their lead to 2-0.

- The Owls would finish on a third goal early in the second half during the 48^th minute. This time, it came off the foot of Kiana Muratsuka. The Falcons would get on the board a minute later when Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, NJ) finished on a pass from Delia Fitzgerald (Foxboro, MA).

- Westfield would, however, go on to score two more before the conclusion of the game. Both Parker and Muratsuka would score their second goal of the game to get the final of 5-1.

- Madison Dawkins (Haverhill, MA) and Cassandra Pendleton (Ware, MA) got minutes in net today. Dawkins suffered the loss (1-9-1) after surrendering two goals and making three saves. Pendleton would play the second half and see 11 shots on goal, allowing three goals and making eight saves. Julia Robak would get the win (5-3-2) after making two saves and allowing one goal.
