Volleyball Splits Tri-Match with MCLA and Lesley
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State women's volleyball team split today's tri-match with MCLA and Lesley University. First, the MASCAC contest against MCLA was a 3-1 defeat, while the non-conference matchup with Lesley was a 3-1 victory for the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Game One
- MCLA's offense dominated the first match, except in the second set, where they suffered their only set loss of the day. Kaelynn Greeley had an outstanding performance, recording 21 kills with just one error on 43 attempts for a .465 kill percentage. She also contributed 10 digs and three service aces. The Trailblazers had five players with double-digit digs, led by Beth Harris with 16. Both Addison Decaro and Shannon O'Brien finished with 22 assists each. Decaro also totaled 14 digs, while O'Brien had a match-high six service aces.
- The Falcons peaked in the second set with strong hitting from Stephanie Sardella (Billerica, MA) and Gwynneth Norman (Keene, NH). They both finished the match with team highs of seven kills. Sydney Nortelus (Cambridge, MA) had her best season performance with 26 digs. Madison Keohane (Wakefield, MA) led in assists with 20.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Game Two
- The second match was comfortably in hand for the Falcons, except in the third set where they slipped, allowing Lesley to win just their second set of the season. Fitchburg's offense in this match was led by Gabrielle Griffiths (Sasebo, Japan), who tallied 12 kills and four blocks. Sardella was second on the team in kills with eight but led the team in digs with 13. Keohane added 20 assists to her stats for the day.
- The Lynx's offense was led by Alawnah Dunda with six kills. Mariah Febo had 12 assists, making her the primary option for Lesley. Korinne Hall-Johnson was almost the entire team's defense as she tallied 25 digs.
