MASCAC Pre-Season Women’s Volleyball Poll Announced

FITCHBURG, Mass. –The Fitchburg State women’s volleyball team was recently selected sixth overall with 18 points in the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) pre-season women’s volleyball poll as voted on by the league’s coaches.

Falcons place sixth overall with 18 points

FITCHBURG, Mass. –The Fitchburg State women's volleyball team was recently selected sixth overall with 18 points in the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) pre-season women's volleyball poll as voted on by the league's coaches.

Framingham State earned three of the eight first place votes to place first overall with 44 points to outdistance second place Westfield State's total of 42 points, which included three first place ballots.

Worcester State was next in the third slot with a total of 40 points, including one first place vote, while Bridgewater State placed fourth after amassing 30 points, including the final first place ballot. MCLA finished in the fifth spot with a total of 28 point, while Fitchburg State followed in sixth with 18 points. Salem State and Massachusetts Maritime rounded out the 2022 MASCAC Women's Volleyball Pre-Season Poll in seventh and eighth place with 15 points and seven points respectively.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football in 2013-14.

The Fitchburg State women's volleyball team will open its 2022 campaign on Thursday, September 1st as they travel to Dean College to take on the Bulldogs for a non-conference match, starting at 7:00 PM.
