Women's Volleyball Falls Short to Saints
BOSTON, MA: Fitchburg State women's volleyball fell to the Saints of Emmanuel College this evening in non-conference action.
THE BASICS:

- Score: Emmanuel 3, Fitchburg 0. Sets: 24-26, 21-25, 21-25
- Records: Emmanuel (7-2), Fitchburg (0-6)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Falcons gave the Saints three tough sets, falling by two in the first and four points in the second and third. The difference for the Saints came on the defensive side. They were able to keep the ball alive with ten more digs than the Falcons, giving them another opportunity to finish the point.
- Leading the way and finishing with a match-high in kills was Isabella Marquez with 11. Kason Huynh dished out 31 assists from her setter position. A critical factor in the Saints defense was the play of Payton Stupavsky, who had a match-high 20 digs.
- The Falcons were topped by the dynamic duo of Stephanie Sardella (Billerica, MA) and Samantha Mirra (Burlington, MA). Both racked up team-highs in kills, with ten each. Sardella also contributed three aces and eight digs. Mirra put in two aces and five digs of her own. Jessica Greco (Southington, CT) held the top spot in digs (9) at the conclusion of the contest, while Mia Vestal (Wilmington, MA) and Madison Keohane (Wakefield, MA) split setting duties. Vestal had 13 assists, with Keohane finishing with 11.
