Volleyball Drops a Pair to Bay Path and Suffolk
FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg State women's volleyball dropped both matches, first to Bay Path, then to Suffolk in non-conference action.
THE BASICS:

- Score: Bay Path 3, Fitchburg 1 (15-25, 25-17, 16-25, 15-25).
Suffolk 3, Fitchburg 0 (15-25, 19-25, 8-25)
- Records: Bay Path (6-3), Suffolk (14-3), Fitchburg (0-9)
HOW IT HAPPENED: Game One
- After dropping the first set, the Falcons were able to claim the second after outhitting the Wildcats 13 to eight. Bay Path would, however, find their stride and take the next two sets.
- Mckenzie Labier and Anastasiya Tsetsko led the way for the Wildcats offense as they racked up 13 kills each. Zormar Betancourt fed the hitters well in this one, as she had a match-high 23 assists. Betancourt would also have the second most digs on the team with 13. Shanayah St. Phard would top all in digs with 26.
- The Falcons offense was led by Stephanie Sardella (Billerica, MA), who finished the game with 13 kills and 11 digs. Samantha Mirra (Burlington, MA) held down the defense today with a team-high 20 digs. Mia Vestal (Wilmington, MA) was the primary setter in this one. She dished out 20 assists.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Digs: Bay Path 75, Fitchburg 68
HOW IT HAPPENED: Game Two
- Suffolk was paced by McKenna Keowen, who had a match-best 11 kills and second-best 16 digs. Libero Morgan Kelsey held down the back row with a match-high 24 digs. Jayla Martinez racked up a match-high in assists as well with 17.
- The Falcons struggled to get anything going in this match offensively. Mirra led the way with six kills and seven digs. Vestal again topped the setters with six assists.

- Kills: Suffolk 41, Fitchburg 13
- Assists: Suffolk 40, Fitchburg 10
- Digs: Suffolk 56, Fitchburg 35
