Volleyball Falls to Worcester in Five-Set Thriller
FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg State women's volleyball fell short to the Lancers of Worcester State this evening in conference action after forcing a fifth set.

- Score: Worcester 3, Fitchburg 2. Sets 14-25, 25-22, 14-25, 25-20, 9-15
- Records: Worcester (6-14, 2-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg 1-12, 0-2 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lancers racked up the kills, ending the game with four in double digits. Kate Stedronsky topped the team with 13 kills, followed by Angela Colonis (11), Katie Cueva (10), and Cassidy D'Esposito (10). Colonis also contributed as the primary setter in this one, sending out 27 assists to go along with 15 digs. Megan Bardis also played the setting role, dishing out 18 assists and 18 digs. Worcester's top performer on the defensive side was Katherine Crateau, who had 39 digs.
- The Falcons team was again paced by Samantha Mirra (Burlington, MA) and Stephanie Sardella (Billerica, MA). The pair racked up 27 of the team's 42 kills and 38 of the team's 107 digs. Sardella finished with a match-high 14 kills, along with 16 digs. Mirra added 13 more kills and had 22 digs. Mia Vestal (Wilmington, MA) had a team-high in assists with 25. Libero Jessica Greco (Southington, CT) also had a team-high with 25 digs.
