Volleyball Falls to Bears
BRIDGEWATER, MA: Fitchburg State women's volleyball fell to the Bears of Bridgewater State this evening in conference action.
THE BASICS:

- Score: Bridgewater 3, Fitchburg 1. Set 25-27, 13-25, 25-19, 16-25
- Records: Bridgewater (9-6, 4-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg (3-14, 0-4 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bears took the first two sets before the Falcons bounced back with their best set of the night. Fitchburg outhit the Bears 14-9, forcing the fourth set. Bridgewater would find their stride again with 15 kills to the Falcons six to clinch the match.
- The Bears were paced by Kim Gowell and Lily Welch. Gowell topped the team with a match-high 13 kills, while Welch finished with 11. Bethany Votta was the go-to setter, finishing with 20 assists. Ava Crane held down the back line after racking up a match-high 18 digs.
- Samantha Mirra (Burlington, MA) and Sariah Dyer (Raynham, MA) finished with seven kills each to top the team. Madison Keohane (Wakefield, MA) dished out nine assists. Mirra was not only one of the top offensive options, but she also was the top defensive player as well. Mirra finished with a team-high 13 digs.
